# What is Mumble Dictation

> Mumble Dictation is a private AI dictation app for Mac that turns your speech into clean text in any app, fully on your Mac.

Mumble Dictation is a private AI dictation app for Mac. Hold a key (Fn by default), speak, release, and clean text appears at your cursor in any Mac app with a text field. It runs on local voice and language models, so your voice and your dictated text never leave your Mac.

## What makes it different
