Mumble Dictation transcribes more than 40 languages, detects which one you are speaking automatically, and handles switching languages in the middle of a sentence. Pick your languages during setup or any time under Settings, or leave Auto on and let Mumble figure out each phrase.

Supported languages

Arabic, Bengali, Bulgarian, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English (with US, UK, and Australian variants), Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hindi, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latvian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Malay, Maltese, Marathi, Persian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, Telugu, Thai, Turkish, Ukrainian, Urdu, and Vietnamese.

Auto detection and mixed speech

With Auto on, you never tell Mumble what language you are about to speak; it detects each phrase as it hears it. You can also select several languages at once if you want to keep detection within a known set. Mixing languages inside one sentence works too. Say “明天的 standup 改到 3pm” and the transcript keeps each word in its own language, in the right script.
If you only ever speak one language, selecting just that language gives detection less to guess about.

UK and Australian English

English comes in US, UK, and Australian variants. The UK and Australian options lock the transcript to that spelling, so “organise” and “colour” come out the way you write them. Only one English variant is active at a time; picking a new one replaces the previous.

Translate target language

The Translate action has its own target language, separate from what you dictate in. Set it on the Translate row in AI Actions; the default is Spanish, and any supported language can be the target. More on Translate
