Every shortcut here opens a quick-capture screen that asks Anything on your mind? with the recorder ready. Talk or type, and the note is saved like any other.

Home Screen widgets

Long-press your Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, and search for Mumble Note. Three small widgets are available:
  • New note: a microphone button for a voice note and a pen button for a text note, with today’s note count.
  • New voice note: one microphone button.
  • New text note: one pen button.

Lock Screen widgets

Long-press the Lock Screen, tap Customize, and add a widget below the clock. Mumble Note offers New voice note, New text note, and Mumble Note (opens the app).

Control Center and the Action button

In Control Center, tap + in the top-left corner, then Add a Control, and pick New voice note or New text note under Mumble Note. The same two controls can be assigned to the Lock Screen bottom buttons and, on iPhone 15 Pro and later, to the Action button in Settings > Action Button > Controls.

Siri and Shortcuts

Say “Create a voice note in Mumble” or “Create a text note in Mumble”. Both also appear in the Shortcuts app, so you can chain them into your own automations.

While you record

A live activity shows Listening… or Paused on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, so you can leave the app and keep recording. Tap it to return to Mumble.
